about

Recorded off and on over the past 2 days between cooking and taking care of my children and packing for a tour of Europe for which I leave for today! This is the first time I printed the artwork before I had the songs all written and recorded for the cd. But time is paramount for the subject of this CD. From the sacredness of saving the Menominee River against the Back Forty Mine to standing with Standing Rock against the Dakota Access Pipeline, I just had to do it now regardless of me trying to let myself get in the way of the the music. My first cd was done in a week this one (number 10 I believe) in less than 2 days. But the message is for now. Stand for life, stand for water, stand for Granmother Earth! #WaterIsLife #MenomineeRiver #StandingRock #NoDAPL

Track Name: Blues For Menominee River
Blues For Menominee River (No Back 40 Mine)
I got blues Menominee River,
Back 40's sneakin' 'round
I got blues Menominee River
Cause greed's coming 'round
Know they say they wont pollute you,
But everyone knows what's goin down

Back 40 wants a home here, mining is never cool
Promise jobs and safety, promises for a fool
It'll poison up our water, desecrate our sacred land
Then leave us with nothing
But a pile of dirty sand

Gather round listen there are stories to be told,
From the sturgeon, land and water and
how they can't be bought or sold
Please listen with your conscience
Don't put greed between the lines
From the salesman with his promises if we house his
Dirty Back 40 Mine

Let's pray Menominee River
Wash the sleep from their eyes
Let 'em see & feel your beauty let them
wash the greed out from their lies
Cause our children need clean water
to plant another seed
Let the power of the people
Pack and send them off downstream

I got blues from Back 40
But I wanna send my blues on down
I got blues Menominee River
But I wanna send these blues on down
Cause our blues is going down stream
When greed gets out of town
